From 13 to 16 June, EASIGEN-DS participated in the annual conference of the European Society of Human Genetics Conference held this year 2026 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The project’s presence at ESHG for the second consecutive year consolidated the visibility achieved in the previous edition and continuing to raise awareness of its mission while reinforcing the collaborative efforts driving its progress

The consortium contributed to the 4-days conference in several ways:

  • Tuuli Lappalainen, NGI director and our WP4 leader, was honoured with this year’s ESHG Award Lecture, recognising her outstanding contributions to human genetics and genomics, and her career-long dedication to advancing the field through collaboration.
  • Ivo Gut, EASIGEN-DS coordinator and Director of CNAG (coordinating institution), delivered an oral presentation titled “A next-generation atlas of immune cells”, showcasing cutting-edge approaches to characterizing immune cell diversity at an unprecedented resolution.
  • Maria Xandri Zaragoza, Project Manager at the coordinating team (CNAG), presented a project poster highlighting key aspects of EASIGEN-DS and actively engaging with the scientific community.
  • The coordinating institution, CNAG, also hosted a booth featuring EASIGEN-DS materials, providing visitors with information and direct insights into the project.
  • In addition, there was also a strong presence of the different EASIGEN-DS partners such as KU Leuven, CEA, Ruđer Bošković Institute, SciLifeLab and Université de Toulouse.

EASIGEN-DS's presence represented a key opportunity to engage with leading experts and to position EASIGEN-DS within the broader landscape of European research on human genetics.
